Adam Howard was born and raised in the garden valleys of the Umpqua. He spent his youth skipping school to hunt, fish and get into all sorts of trouble good for the development of a young man. He grew up reading books like “Watership Down” by Richard Adams, “White Fang” by Jack London and “The Fox and the Hound” by Dan Mannix. Books like these were not so much life-changing as life-affirming for the young Adam Howard. These classic authors wrote of a world Adam recognized and lived in. He now writes outdoor fiction and non-fiction in the hopes that his books will bring as much joy to others as the classics brought to him; that the traditions of outdoorsmen will never be lost, but always remembered fondly for what they are, a way of life.

I don't know but I quote it to myself everyday. I have a hard time sitting down to write. When I do, I have to tell myself that the first draft doesn't have to be perfect, it only has to be written. Once I start writing, inspiration starts to flow. Though, at the moment, it feels like my stream of thought is at a trickle, I blame that on laziness, not a muse or writer's block.(less)
